Money is already art. It always has been. We just agreed to pretend otherwise.
I take a real dollar — not a copy, not a print, the actual thing — and I paint it. Two butterflies. A lemon. Now it's worth more. Not because I say so. Because you know it is.
That's the joke. That's also the point. The market decides what art is worth. Art decides what money is worth. I just made them the same object and waited to see who blinks first.
A framed WOW Dollar sold for €1,000. The dollar is worth one dollar. The difference — that €999 gap — is the art. It's also the question.
Beautiful Money doesn't fight the system. It uses the system to expose the system. And it looks good on the wall.

Geld ist bereits Kunst. Das war es immer. Wir haben nur so getan, als wäre es anders.
Ich nehme einen echten Dollar — keine Kopie, kein Druck, das Original — und ich bemale ihn. Zwei Schmetterlinge. Eine Zitrone. Jetzt ist er mehr wert. Nicht weil ich das sage. Weil du es weißt.
Das ist der Witz. Das ist auch der Punkt. Der Markt entscheidet, was Kunst wert ist. Kunst entscheidet, was Geld wert ist. Ich habe beides zum selben Objekt gemacht und abgewartet, wer zuerst blinzelt.
Ein gerahmter WOW Dollar wurde für 1.000 € verkauft. Der Dollar darin ist einen Dollar wert. Die Differenz — diese 999 € Lücke — das ist die Kunst. Das ist auch die Frage.
Beautiful Money kämpft nicht gegen das System. Es benutzt das System, um das System zu entlarven. Und es sieht gut aus an der Wand.
